Glassware Essentials

Cocktail glasses were designed with specific types of spirits in mind. Here’s how to enjoy your cocktail in the right glass when you’re bartending at home.

Grey Goose Vodka Old Fashioned on The Rocks Glass with an orange garnish

The Rocks Glass

Rocks glasses are designed to serve premium spirits either on the rocks or neat. Their wide shape allows drinkers to sip and savour every drop. Want to rock that rock glass? Try the Grey Goose Old Fashioned.

Two sea breeze cocktails in the highball glass next to Grey Goose vodka

The Highball Glass

The highball glass was originally designed for the highball cocktail – a simple spirit and mixer drink. Its tall, narrow shape and straight sides are perfect to hold cocktails mixed with juices and non-carbonated liquids. It’s the perfect glass for the classic cocktail the Sea Breeze.

Grey Goose Vodka drink in a stemmed cocktail glass

The Cocktail Glass

The “cocktail glass” is really a catch-all term for a number of classic stemmed glasses: the martini cocktail glass, coupette, Nick & Nora. All of these are glasses that you serve a drink “straight up” (not over ice) in. Try the beautiful, classic vodka drink the Lemon Drop.

Grey Goose Vodka cocktail in a stemmed flute glass

The Flute

Flutes are perfect for cocktails that are topped with a bit of fizz. Their slender and elegant shape helps retain the effervescence of the drink. Want to flaunt the flute? Try the Grey Goose Life in Venice.

Two of Le Grand Fizz spritz served in the wine glass with lime garnishes

The Wine Glass

Wine glasses are for much more than just wine! Their large shape makes them the perfect vessels to really appreciate the aromatics of spritzes and any number of cocktails. Make any wine glass sparkle with the Le Grand Fizz.

Grey Goose La Poire vodka cocktail in a punch bowl

The Punchbowl

A punchbowl not only allows for service for larger parties and gatherings, it allows the cocktail ingredients to mix and mingle and continue to evolve the flavour. Try the Shiso Sangria Jug.

Now that you are in the know, before you reach for the cocktail shaker, consider the type of cocktail glass. Not only will it elevate the taste, but it will also be easy on the eyes. Top it off with some easy yet elegant garnish to help it really shine.
