The Vodka Martini Cocktail is a crowd-pleasing, versatile drink that you can make at home to your liking. While we have plenty of Christmas Martini Cocktail Recipes for you to choose from, you can turn any cocktail into a Christmas one, just by adding some interesting garnishes and seasonal touches. Here are some of our favourite ideas.
There are plenty of festive flavours to choose from during the Christmas season. Using the fruit and herbs typically in season during the winter not only makes for a great themed drink, but it also makes your drink taste fresh too.
For example, you could try adding fresh fig, pomegranate arils or blood oranges as garnishes. Cranberries and a rosemary sprig provide a great seasonal flavour – and also look a bit like mistletoe. The Christmas Martini Cocktail features the sophisticated but simple garnish of red currants.
Adding sweet garnishes works best with sweeter drinks, like the Espresso Martini Cocktail or the Snowflake Martini Cocktail. You could add a candied cocktail rim by using white frosting and sprinkles. The Candy Cane Lane Cocktail features a candy cane rim AND peppermint syrup. You can also dangle sweets, like ribbon candy, off the edge. Instead of an orange slice, try adding a sugar cookie wedge.
If you don’t want to change anything about the drink recipe itself, you could always change its presentation. First of all, you could break out the festive glasses, if you have them. But if you want to keep with your classic, clear Martini glass, you could include a Christmas-themed stirrer or swizzle stick. You could also tie a mini ornament or gift tag around the stem – not only will it look festive, but it will also help people keep track of their drinks at parties. And while it won’t change the drink itself, you could also make your martini cocktail with the limited edition Alessi Martini Cocktail Mixing Kit. Its silvery accoutrements will get you in the Christmas spirit.
These are just a few ways to make your days and drinks more merry and bright. To get more Christmas gift ideas, recipes and more, see how we’re celebrating this year.
